- Add configurable vertical and horizontal grids with axis tick, data,
  and screen spacing modes.
- Add monotone cubic line smoothing and angled X-axis tick labels.
- Return references for chart APIs that always have a result, and document
  model ownership and borrowed references.
- Prevent empty tooltips and refresh chart hover when live data changes
  under a stationary cursor.
- Update the charts example and add rendering and tooltip regression tests.
